French designer born in Paris. She founded Écart International in 1978, reviving forgotten 20th-century modernist furniture, and later established Studio Putman in 1997. Celebrated for her elegant minimalism, she worked across interiors, furniture, product design, and scenography. Her international reputation grew in the 1980s–90s receiving France’s highest honours, including the Légion d’Honneur, and left a lasting legacy in contemporary design.
