Danish Dining Chairs by Hans Wegner

Original price was: £4,200.00.Current price is: £3,000.00.
A scarcely available set of 6 "Model FH 4101" dining chairs.  The "floating" seat and backrest are made from teak veneered ply wood that sit on a contrasting solid beech frame.  With single stretchers to the sides and double stretchers to both the back and front, these chairs are very robust.  A wonderful example of 1950s Mid Century Modernism by an iconic designer.  This style pioneered the technique of using bent ply which was later adopted by both Charles and Ray Eames and Lucian Ercolani.  The chairs are presented in a natural oiled finish.
  • Designed by Hans Wegner for Fritz Hansen, a complete dining set comprising 6 model FH4103 chairs with a model FH4602 table.  The frames are made from solid beech wood and the table top and seats have a contrasting teak veneer.  With lovely organic curves, this set became known at the "Heart" dining set and is considered a design classic.  The 3-leg construction offers a space saving solution and also allow the chairs to stack.  This concept was copied by Hans Olsen in the commonly found "Roundette" series for Frem Røjle.
  • A teak, wingback "model 4365" lounge chair. A classic MCM item combining elegant design with functional comfort. This chair has been professionally reupholstered in a washable "ivory" coloured chenille.
