Hans Wegner

Hans Wegner’s name will forever live in the pantheon of furniture-making greats, affectionately referred to as the King of Chairs. He designed well over 500 chairs in his lifetime, a truly staggering figure, of which over 100 successfully made it to the mass production stage. Wegner’s ethos was to respect the integrity of wood and other natural materials and he utilised traditional carpentry and joinery methods in his designs. Wegner’s chairs look as stylish today as this did when first designed with his iconic “Wishbone Chair” being in continuous production for over 70 years!
