Architect and pioneer of the Danish Modern movement. Finn Juhl was instrumental in shaping the furniture-making craft in the mid 20th century. He is credited with introducing Modernism to America in the late 1940s whilst helping to furnish the new headquarters of the United Nations in New York. On his death, Juhl had a now-prestigious furniture-making prize named after him in recognition that few furniture-makers have left behind such strong legacies.
