These goods are in excellent original condition. Vintage items are in much better order than usually available and have not been subject to any repairs.  They have usually had one careful owner from new.  There will be no splits to the wood and no loose joints.  Contemporary items will be close to “as good as new”.

These goods are like those in A+. There will be no damage and they will be in better condition than usual.  However, vintage items may have had small repairs, such as scratch removal or glued joints.  Any repairs will be minimal, carried out sympathetically and help preserve the integrity of the item.  Contemporary items in this category will only have some minor markings from previous use.

These items will be in a condition expected for their age. There will usually be minor dinks or chips, some fading or heavy patina. However, there will be no structural issues or functional concerns to note. This category is what most of our competitors would describe as “good”.
