Undoubtedly one of the most famous American designers, Charles Eames was an immensely talented individual, whose skills extended to architecture, manufacturing, and filmmaking. Along with his wife, Ray Eames, the Eames Office were pioneers in their use of plywood within their furniture, with famous models including the beautifully moulded “LCW” (Lounge Chair Wood) and the iconic Lounge Chair & Ottoman (model 670 & 671). Their office furniture (EA series) is used in some of the most prestigious Boardrooms of the world, including the instantly recognisable “Soft Pad” chair. With their elegant design, despite mass production, officially licensed products by Herman Miller and Vitra continue to hold value well.
